ZOONOSES AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE

Bridging Health,
Harmony and
Humanity

At ZEHI, we are committed to fostering a world where humans, animals,
and the environment thrive together in balance and mutual respect.

Our Core Values

Collaboration

We believe in the strength of partnerships across sectors, bringing together healthcare, veterinary, environmental, and policy experts to create integrated solutions.

Sustainability

Our actions prioritize environmental stewardship, recognizing that a healthy ecosystem is essential for preventing disease and promoting well-being.

Responsiveness

In times of crisis, we act with urgency and coordination to address emerging zoonotic threats and protect at-risk communities.

Innovation

Through continuous research and surveillance, we strive to remain at the forefront of understanding and preventing zoonotic disease, adapting and advancing methods as new information and technology emerge.

Empowerment

We are committed to educating communities and professionals alike, providing them with the resources and knowledge to make informed, sustainable health decisions.

Why it Matters

Zoonotic diseases, which jump between animals and humans, threaten global health, economies, and the environment. By addressing these threats at their source and reinforcing ecosystem resilience, ZEHI plays a pivotal role in reducing risks and fostering a future where coexistence is safe and sustainable.

Our Vision

ZEHI visualises a world where humans, animals, and the environment coexist in health and harmony, safeguarded by a resilient ecosystem, empowered communities, and collaborative efforts that prevent the transmission of zoonotic diseases.

Our Mission

To drive impactful initiatives that mitigates zoonotic and reverse zoonotic disease transmission through research, public awareness, and interdisciplinary partnerships. We are committed to fostering sustainable environments, building community resilience, and enhancing the health and well-being of all species.

TESTIMONIALS

2024 Scientific Outreach to Primary Schools in Rural Communities in Kwara State, Nigeria

As a teacher and guardian, I strongly desire more outreach programmes of this nature to take place in our schools. In fact, I was delighted to see our pupils given the opportunity to ask questions about scientific innovations, with facilitators providing clear and engaging answers. I observed a positive attitude in our pupils, with many expressing an interest in becoming scientists in the future. I am optimistic that this event will contribute to their enthusiasm for learning and improve their academic performance.”
MR. AZEEZ, Head Master, Odo-Ode Primary School, Ilorin, Kwara State
We are deeply grateful for this scientific outreach programme (2024) conducted by ZEHi for our pupils. Our school’s location in a rural community has significantly hindered our pupils’ access to learning about developments in the city and the global world. At some point, we observed that some of our pupils preferred going to the farm rather than attending school. This organized scientific outreach programme was very educative, enlightening, and interesting. We are confident that it has reignited our pupils’ interest in education and fostered a desire to excel academically. Thank you for inspiring them.
